Kuala Lumpur, Aug 5 News (Xinhua.net) reporter Xiong Ping reported according to local media reports, the Malaysian government has decided that from February next year, toys suitable for children under the age of 14 produced and imported by Malaysia are required to pass the testing and validation at Malaysian Specifications and Test Limited Company before they can be sold.
Malaysian Trade Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the new ordinance will be announced formally at the end of this month.
He said that the new safety standard for toys is established based on international standard, and the new standards will control hazards caused by chemical compositions contained in children's toys effectively.
